Heading to Dale

Heading to Dale Hollow this warmer than normal weekend and going to try something brand new to me, LIVE BAIT. From past threads I figure shiners are the way to go but I have no idea how to rig them. Do you dead stick and guess how deep you are, do u use a carolina rig and let the sinker sit on bottom so the shiner can float above it. How deep should we fish. As much info that anyone feel comfortable sharing would be wonderful and appreciated. By the way, picked up the alabama rig and plan on throwing that also.

Headed down in the morning. I will be using jigs but my brother-in-law and his partner will be using live bait. I have used it but don't know much about it.
