Guist Creek Lake

I fished there today from noon until 16:00. I threw a crankbait and soft plastic. Never got a bite. Lake looks to be at summer pool right now and clearing. I only saw four other boats.

I was there also in a Bass Tracker PT185. We also skunked.

We threw cranks, jerkbait and a jig. Water temp 42 on the lake side and 39 all the way up the creek.

I've been there three times and never caught a fish. That was two years ago, but I never went back.

I actually like Guist. There are just some times that are better than others.

I usually fish it feb,march,april,oct,nov thats the only time i have any luck. Sometimes at night in summer. This lake can be very hard to fiqure out at times. But if you catch a good day it can pay off with big fish !!! Later jc

I may not always catch big ones but I usually catch something. Unfortunately though, I do have the occasional day like yesterday.

I pulled a 9lb 4oz Hyrbrid out of there this fall. Anybody know how big they actually get in Guist?

I've seen a 12-pounder caught out of there. The guys at the marina have told me they think there are bigger ones in there. They should know, but then again, they want people to fish there, too. I tend to believe it, though.

Caught a hybrid over 10 once. Released it afterward. I caught it on a spinnerbait back up past the bridge on St Patrick's Day. If I had known I was close to a lake record I would have taken it to the marina for an official weight.
