Near Lilly dale water temp 47, the last couple days has been a challenge.
The wind has made it impossible to set up on the main lake spots I like. So tucking in behind islands an cuts has given up a few fish an those took patience.
Today, look one direction you had a blinding blowing snow the other direction was a sunny sky.
I stayed with the largest bait I have ever fished figuring if I was out there I'd go for the big fish, first 2 fish today were under 13-14 inches.....

Hey no problem, I admire you (and am envious) for getting out in weather like this!
Me and my dad went New Years Day. It started out nice with temps around 54, fished around the KY State Park and stayed in reciprocal waters. We attempted to go south onto main lake and found 3 or 4 foot swells and white caps. The wind was gusting very hard at times, to the point it was overpowering my trolling motor. Did not catch anything, got a few bites around rip rap, but landed nothing. I would have to believe the cold front caused the bite to shut off. Even tried up Illwill and didn't even really mark any fish. By the time we left the air temp had dropped a lot. It was a nice day, just no fish.
