Just add Water on Dixie Highway?

Knute "the heathen" has contacted Just Add Water on Dixie Highway to perform some repair work on his Force motor.

Anybody have any comments on their work? PM me if you'd rather not post in public.

All comments good or bad on their work is appreciated.

    Thanks

I gave Embrey's number to Knute, but Knute wants a "Business" to work on his motor that can provide a warranty on their work.

No offense to Embrey but I don't think he'd be able to warranty his work.

The work is going to involve a rebuild of a cylinder, rings, etc.

if work is right it dont need a warranty. never have never will. warranty on a 2 stroke is just asking for trouble anyway with most boat owners...lol

Most warranties are just a piece of paper. Rob is right.....but I understand your point.

On another point.....I have a buddy from THIS site who had a warranty and pretty much spent an entire boating season having that warranty "honored", instead of fishing out of his "repaired boat".

I've had work done by Rob and spent time in his garage.....I'm surprised he has time to do CRAP with all the folks asking him for tranny rebuilds and engine rebuilds.

While he is my friend, it is a RARITY in the automotive or marine world to find someone as thorough and detailed oriented as Rob.......not to mention the fact that he can rebuild a starter on a Force in the middle of winter, ON the water, with a screwdriver and a multi tool.....Yea, I've BEEN there.

Embrey: I am in no way disparaging your work or knowledge. This is Knute's choice and I gave him your contact information a few months ago. If I need a starter installed on my Johnson 115 or work of that nature I will definitely have you in mind. Plus we're darn near neighbors in Southern Indiana.

My apologies if I have offended you in any way.

Rob, I didn't think you took my post wrong, but I just wanted to be sure.
The other thing is this Force is on a 24ft pontoon. It's like parking the Queen Mary on somebody's property while the work is performed.

So, sometime in February, Knute will be taking this beast over to Just Add Water. While Knute lives in Louisville, the pontoon is parked here at my place under my shed roof. We have to wait for either a freeze or the ground to dry out before we back it out of the overhang and not rut up my yard (field).

have had Ray work on mine a couple times and bought one used from him, know several who i've sent to him and have had no complaints, sure if you root long enough though there is someone who will have a problem..with the parts availability of the force motors has he though of buying another motor instead of sinking that much in the force?i think ray is about the only one in this part of the country who will even acknowledge those motors.

    UPDATE

Knute, The Heathen, just picked up his toon after Just Add Water replaced his motor. One cylinder was completely shot on the old Force and they recommended that he put a rebuild on it.

He now has a 75 horse Merc on the toon. He seems happy with their service and the work performed.
