I have flown into Charlotte-Douglas International twice since they went to the body scanner setup. The first time, I was coming back into the country from Mexico, so had to go through security there after going through customs. The second time, I had flown to Charlotte for a meeting and was flying back home.
Both times, I got pulled for the body scanner....both times after I got the green light in the body scanner and took a couple of steps forward out of it, I got tapped by the TSA officer who said "Wait, they changed their mind" and I was pulled to the side to get the extra special lovin. Not only did they see my junk...they felt my junk.
Then, I got to McCarran International in Vegas about 5:00...may have been slightly hungover (lol)...and got pulled there for the over-the-clothes-heavy-petting too. Plus, they took my shoes and ran them through some machine, which I thought was a free shoe-shine, but turns out it was looking for explosives residue.
I'm cool with it all, really. They're just doing their jobs. Just like some folks working the drive-thru at Wendy's are nice, and some are not...so it goes for the TSA agents. People are people, and some people ****.
I'm also perfectly fine with profiling. If you line up every nutjob that has hijacked or bombed a plane in the last 50 years they have a lot of "similar traits"...and I'm fine when folks who also have those same traits are picked out of the line at a higher rate than others. Sorry.
I'm fat. If you're trying to pick people from a group that are the most likely to have heart disease, you're going to check the fat dudes more than the skinny dudes if you're smart. That's just efficient use of your time.
The same logic applies for terrorists.
If during the cavity check you realize that the officer has one hand on each of your shoulders, I'd file a complaint. I'm just sayin...
