    Yes some are eaten,yes oily,alwives herring etc.
    American shad are a chesapeake bay favorite-uuuuuuccch
    poor mans tarpon however on tackle

    I'll stick with shrimp, crabs, and cod.....

    Chesapeake Bay Shad atleast have the benefit of a salt water habitat to clean up some.

    What next..........an entre' combination at Red Lobster of Shad, Skippies, and Goldfish??????
