Looking to buy two new reels this year and cant decide with the new Lews speed spool or the shimano curado. So any info would be good. thanks
I don't have a Curado but I do have a Revo premier, a Calcutta and the best casting reel I have is a Pro Qualifier.......Until I got a Lew's. I don't know how it's going to hold up but it's very smooth and it's the best casting reel I've ever had the pleasure to have in my hands.
Thanks Thats what Ive been hearing.
I bought a lews speed spool about 1990 ,still using it,never rebuilt.4/7/1
ive heard lews are good reels but the curado i have is hard to beat. i picked a lews up the other day and in my opinion it didnt feel nearly as good as a curado. the only major difference would have to be the price. good luck
What is the name, model number or whatever designation that is used to identify the "new" Lews reel that everyone is talking about. I know that some of them have been around a long time. Thanks
the new lews reels have made a come back due to the engeneer from basspro (who developed the extream reels for them) any way he is on his own now and has bought the rights to lews
im a big lews fan and have10 or 12 original reels so i gave the new spped spool baitcaster a try got 2 new ones
and i must say job well done reels are smooth ,dependable and well worth the money
as far as old lews vs new lews old lews are hard to find ive seen just an empty lews box go on ebay for almost 100 bucks to collectors i guess
try one you wont be dissappointed
I bought the $89.00 speed spool last year and it is a great little reel. I plan to buy a couple more this year.
