I agree. I think he is a good coach but past his prime. Just like Crume was. I can't figure out why when you are up by 20 you don't let the new guys play so they can get game experience, so they get what ever defense he is running.Not being a person who follows U of L basketball, I can't comment on how the team is playing together.....but a home loss to ND speaks volumes....they are not very good. Pitino is a good coach, has proved it for years......but all coaches in time lose their effectiveness at motivating the players of today. Look at Bob Knight....his downfall was his inability to recruit/coach players of later generations because of his old school ways. My biggest question....why did Pitino announce his retirement 4-5 years ahead of time? If I were a recruit there is no way I would consider going to U of L now. Louisville has a lot of talent, but if they are in-fighting and not playing together bad things will come!
