Put in at Steel Branch and rode up to Lock 4. River was quick at 8.6', could not get vey close to the dam due to swift water. Temp was 41.1 deg.

Pretty much got skunked. Day started by running from one side of town to the other looking for minnows, worms any kind of bait. Both bait shops were closed and every bait refrigerator in the quick shops only had dead nighcrawlwers.

Used several colors of lead head jig without any strikes. Sonar showed areas packed with fish but could not interest them in anything I threw.

The Minnkota terrova with I Pilot was incredible!! Was able to move from one side of the river to the other in very fast current with no problem. Hit the GPS anchor lock feature on the motor and it would hold the boat in position in very fast water. I could use the feature to anchor in position while I tied on various jigs, worms, cranks, spinners. At one point I considered just tieing on the whole tackle box to the end of the line.

Probably the full sun and time of day played a big part. Did manage to land a few rock bass on the way back along a rock bar.

Next trip I will for sure find bait the day before rather than spending half the morning driving around looking for bait.
