Fished with Morgan’s guide service on Saturday and went out with Jerry's son who is an excellent guide. We caught 10 on Saturday (4 keepers and 6 throw backs) and the only disappoint was we caught the fish by 9:30. Jeremy would of stayed out later to fish for other species, but I decided to to head in a get some rest for the Bengal's playoff game (what a disappointment). My girlfriend and I went out Sunday in my boat and caught 7 stripes in approximately 3 hours. The fish were hitting shad at a depth of 25 to 40 feet deep. We were fishing 2/3 up the creek in approximately 35 to 50 feet of water. The water temp was around 48 degrees at the location we were fishing. Did not fish past 10:30 a.m., however, due to the full moon I know the fishing would of been hot around 12:30 p.m. Shad was not easy to catch, Jeremy spent 3 to 4 hours catching bait on Saturday and fortunately I caught over 100 shad on my second throw Sunday (thank God I am Irish). I did say a little pray prior to catching the bait maybe that is why I got lucky.
Ever fish we caught had the parasite present in their mouth and I do believe that this parasite will be gone by the spring or sometime next year. Jeremy and I have done a lot of research and it does not affect a human what so ever, therefore, it is safe to eat the fish. It was a gorgeous weekend and I highly recommend going fishing with Morgan's Guide service. I have known Jerry and Jeremy for over 10 years and they are a top notch guide service. I would not make that statement if it was not true. The only downside to the weekend is that the Bengals lost along with my Cards.
God Bless and good fishing
