I have the iLivewell and it stinks. You have got to be quick on draw to take a pic. The app has a variety of species (all bass species, catfish, all panfish, musky, pike, 3 or 4 trout species) to choose from. Weights are calculated by length and girth, so you have to get the measurements before you can get a weight that won't be completely accurate.By the time you get all the measurements and snap the picture the fish has been out of the water for way too long. I believe in getting a fish back in the water ASAP, so I just take a pic, weigh it if its a donkey, and release them. This app is a waste of money and Bassmaster mag was where I found the reference to it.
The only app I use is Navionics, but I only use it to mark tracks and waypoints. I don't have any experience with any other apps, so that's the best I can give you -- DON'T GET iLIVEWELL.![]()
Thanks, I'll steer clear of that one.
Try www.onlinefishinglog.com. It's free and very good. They also have printable fishing log forms if you would rather have a notebook and hand write in a log. What I do is use the printable log and keep them in a notebook and then use that form to enter your online info on your account.
thanks, I'll check it out.
I had it but didn't have time too use it.Was too busy fishing.........
I think the best way to use it is to try and fill it out at the end of each day. I can usually remember what I catch, where I catch it, and what on. etc etc. and at the end of the day fill out the paper version and then log it on online later. Because it is hard once you've caught a fish to put down your rod and say welp gotta log this one in, that would really be pretty silly to do that. I think surely we can all remember what we do on the water at least at the end of just one day.
Never even crossed my mine too do it after fishing.I better get busy because i remember every spot i ever caught a fish.My few years in Ky its easy still. My problem is i'm looking for more hunny holes & nobody too leave the info for after i'm gone so i share it wwith everyone as it happens..........I think the best way to use it is to try and fill it out at the end of each day. I use the IPhone apps while I fish. The Apps for Navionics is cool but I use the Fishing Calendar App the most. It shows the lunar phases, peak times, will track your photos, and mark way points on the lake for your catch. The last one is good just in case you forget to mark your depth finder. Navionics is cool when I fish the Ohio River. I have it synced with google earth and if you get ahead of the app Google earth can show other structure you may not have seen on the screen. Good luck and hope either of them help.

Thanks for the info... i'll check out that FCA.
Another great navigational app is Spyglass. Once downloaded, the maps can be read without a cell signal. I use the app as a backup chartplotter and it's great for little known fishing holes.
a buddy of mine has the application like u put in a fishfinder with lake maps and such he really likes it but i have not seen it work
