Angry Maybe their heads were on fire?

Now we have congress abd the military wring their hands because some marines "golden showered" some deag taliban fighters. SO WHAT? Why dont we hold some of those imans accountable for desicration of american corses, like in somolia, or the killing and mutilation of civilians they perposely kill. So mcCain is wringing his handsDid he see the beheading video that those 'mercfull muslims" showed to the world. Some of this crap makes my blood boil, those sobs are killing and wounding american service men! whos aiding and abetting when they claim they will prosecute those guys? Either fight to win, or get the heck out of afganistan.Maybe some generals and congress men need some "gitmo" time.

I agree with the descriptions of the behavior in the news. It's disgusting, deplorable, inconsistent with American values, all that. But these guys are doing an extremely stressful job, in an extremely stressful environment. I can't tell you that I wouldn't do the same if I found myself in that kind of situation. So I hate to see them get the book thrown at them, the way they probably will now that it's an international incident. Man, filming that was just STUPID!

Why are there even any rules when it comes to war? Nevermind the fact that you killed them just don't pee on them afterwards..........

    I never understood that.

Where does that old saying "alls fair in love and war" come into play? This country has turned stupid!! Why not just beat the enemy nto death with wiffle bats? What happened to napalm?the spoils of war in the old days meant if you lost, you had your belongings taken, your country destroyed, and your citizens turned into slaves.Things like this make Paul and Huntsman soung like they have seen the light.Dont put our service men in harms way, and then prosecute them for killing the enemy.

I'm not much on having our guys urinate on the enemies dead bodies. However I do understand the angst our guys have, the hell they go through in war, etc...I can understand how they feel...but at the same time I'm more of the train of thought that says, do your job, get it done and move on down the road without anything else, just get the work done and go on.

We can not just get the job done and then come home. We need to be politicaly correct. We would not want to hurt their feelings even when they are trying to kill us. And when the war is over we should maybe give them a trillion dollars or more worth of aid. After all we will need to rebuild what we demolish.

Yes... I hope these guys don't have to face any charges other than a company reprimand, I was in vietnam and it is tough being in a foreign land doing a job that nobody should have to do, I don't think doing these kinds of things is who we want to be... Just because our soldiers have been treated badly in the past doesn't mean we have to turn into the same kind of animals that do these things.

Re: Maybe their heads were on fire?

I sincerely appreciate our men and women fighting all over the world and my hat's off to them. I can't imagine the stress they are under, because I haven't lived it myself. However, I don't think they should get a free pass when they fail to act with integrity and honor just because they are at war.

Could you imagine if a police officer in the United States, after being forced to protect his life by shooting and killing a common gang banger, then pissed on the dead body, took video, and put it on YouTube???? He would lose his job and the public would be outraged, not because the public sides with the gang banger, but because that is not how Law Enforcement is supposed to act. Acting with honor and integrity is part of the job.

I know that war brings about a different set of "rules"...but that doesn't mean some punk in fatigues who acts like an ass by pissing on corpses and sharing the videos on YouTube should just be looked past because he was in a stressful environment. I believe that responsibility for your actions is somewhere in the military code of conduct.

By all means, kill the enemy....give them payback for their actions....but don't stoop to their level of humanity by doing this kind of stupid crap. Americans are supposed to be better than this...and it's dishonorable behavior for anyone, including a Marine.

How soon people forget about some of our soldiers being killed and hung from a bridge in Iraq. Isn't it odd that John McCain said peeing on those dead enemies "makes him feel so sad." Apparently it didn't make him sad that our murdered soldiers were hanging from a bridge.

Just send the troops who were having a peeing contest safely home and forget them giving those stinking corpses a much needed shower.

Of course it made him sad that our murdered soldiers were hanging from a bridge!

It made him sad to see these Marines pissing on corpses because they turned a job well done into dishonorable and irresponsible conduct that is a black eye for the American military.

By all means kill the enemy and let God sort them out, but I just don't believe we have to ditch our code of moral conduct and become heathens like they are to do it. We don't behead people on TV like they do. We don't drag dead bodies of our enemies in the streets like they do. We don't hang people from bridges. We don't kill civilians in terrorist attacks like they do. We are better human beings than that.

Re: Maybe their heads were on fire?

This never should have been filmed. Whats happens in war stays in war and should not be broadcast to the world. Now the ones they urined on were terrorists? and they were dead? hmmmm so the only problem is people found out about it. It probably did alot for the soldiers moral at the time. Maybe it is something men do to celebrate. Heck my X use to pee in the snow and write his name when he was drunk. So it could be a man thing.
