Re: No Alabama Rig in B.A.S.S.

I think it is crap but I am not a pro so ohh well, I just hope they do not make it illegal for the everyday fisherman that just wants to catch fish, I handle all the fish with respect and get them all back in the water after a few pics!

The DNR will decide if the everyday fishing person is allowed or not allowed to fish it.

The spinnerbait/trailerhook with trailer analogy is terrible. Come on guys, think outside the box, Crankbaits have two hooks, they are referring to two SEPARATE BAITS on one pole. A spinnerbait is still one lure and all of you know this. quit being asshats

its interesting the guy most anti-rule change here is the one actually throwing the rig, it kind of throws out any objectivity to the topic you may have had.

I dont know if the rig is or isnt easier from personal experience, but I think its the message sent across the board by experts and pro anglers that catching bass is less challenging with this rig.

All I know is the bass were still biting before the rig became hot, and will continue to bite if it becomes banned from service anywhere in the US.

Asshat analogies are all WE have, and to top that I think that we should take one treble hook off each crank bait and cut off two of the othe three hook, you know giving the fish a fair chance! By the way exactly what is an asshat?

The spinnerbait trailer hook is an extension of the spinnerbait which allows you to have the possibility to catch more fish....I figured this would come from someone who "I don't know if the Rig is or isn't from personal experience." Coming from MY personal and those who are friends that have thrown it, "It doesn't catch them as the pros have depicted it" Any lure can outfish another lure in given situations. As much as I've thrown the rig, I've yet to catch more than one at a time BUT I have caught more than one before on lures with treble hooks. "The message across the board by pro anglers is that it is less challenging"..well last time I checked those guys can catch them better than almost everyone on anything they throw....you think it's because they are a better fisherman than you...most likely. Most pros are totally catch and release , are we to follow suite and not allow anyone to fish live bait? Or not to keep any to eat? Or to quit trolling just because the pros say its illegal? They will not be banned in Kentucky but some other states have changed to limit the lures to 2 or 3 (Most DFW have stated reasons such as spinnerbaits with blades (some states have blades listed as lure), trailers, and added hooks). I would say that anyone who looks at it from a stand point of "I've never used it but the pros say", they should TRY it and then pass judgement instead of thinking with what you sit on rather than what you hang your hat on.

It is 5 Moonshaun and will more than likely stay that way. UNLESS it outfishes live bait and w wipe out the whole fishery.

My opinion here just as everyone has theirs.

Re: No Alabama Rig in B.A.S.S.

I have spent many hours and days on Lake Erie and Lake St. Claire have fished many tournaments there. On a lake like those where you are just dragging tubes on bottom and umbrella rig with 5,6 and 7 tubes is not fair in a tournament. When you drag over a hump the smallies are schooled on I can almost guarantee you on a good day every one of those will have a fish on it. On a lake like Cumberland and Laurel etc. down here not so much as an advantage but other lakes up north it would be totally unfair in my opinion.
There are a lot of lakes where it would be a serious advantage, and I don't think it's even fair for the fish up there.

Re: No Alabama Rig in B.A.S.S.

Well this is how I see it. I dont see why they would not want to catch more fish. As long as everyone has the same opportunity to get one. I bet you ask any pro fisherman if they would like to use a new bait that will catch them more fish and i bet 100% would say yes. It is just like any other bait. If you dont know where to throw it 9 times outta 10 your not going to catch anything. Unless your mike The Ike lol ( some times there not on the bank there out here) 4 pounder just like that) . But I have used the bait one time and smoked the bass and strippers with it.

I agree Tim 100%, I've been reading the posts "catch and release" and "pay to play" and it's seems like some fisherman are having a hard time catching fish and want to blame it on the tournament fisherman, now we have someone wanting to make it more challenging to catch fish?? I don't get it

I think if a fisherman catches 5 or 6 fish legally, and he wants to put them in a live well, put them in a bag, put them on the scales, or show them off, those fish belong to that fisherman, and what he does with them is his business.... JMO
