Newt is a lot of things, and at the top of the list, is what a wonderful role model he is for the younger adults. He is a good conservative family man, with strong morals. Ok I'm just kidding, Newt isn't anything like that at all. If he was I would try to vote twice for him. If by chance he could get elected, how would you answer your daughters should they ask, how did the first lady and the president meet.
DUDE.......if that is what drives your decisions, you've got serious issues.Newt is a lot of things, and at the top of the list, is what a wonderful role model he is for the younger adults. I mean REALLY.......
If that type of decision making drives you, how the HELL did you ever vote for Obama........and I don't even know if you did, but IF you did.......WOW.

I don't understand why people are so hung on people's past.......who cares!
We are worried about the future here, not the past.
If any of these guys can get us out of a deep recession and get this country back on the right track, they can have as many wives or dudes or whatever they want..........
If you want your daughter to only hear fairytale stories, open a book and start reading. Then when she's a teenager and gets dumped for the first time and starts contemplating suicide, maybe then you'll regret not making her aware of what actually goes on in the world, that no one leads a fairytale life, and that she isn't a princess after all...
I can easily explain that one; after all, your remark was aimed directly at ME, not 'some people.'
YOU made it about Romney's religion when YOU SAID THAT "TWO EX-WIVES ARE MORE SOCIALLY CONSERVATIVE THAN 7 WIVES." That's your baby so rock on and post the names of Romney's 7 wives. We already know the names of Newt's two ex-wives.
If it were just his extramarital affairs, I'd agree with you. But it's more than that. Think back to when all this happened, and Clinton was having his way with Monica Lewinsky in the White House. Newt was one of Clinton's most vocal critics, totally hammering him for the immorality of what he was doing, while at that very same time, doing pretty much the same thing!I don't understand why people are so hung on people's past.......who cares!

You can be a bad husband, and still be a good president. That's been proven over and over again. But IMHO, you cannot be the kind of hypocrite Newt Gingrich has proved he is, and still be a good POTUS.
"We are worried about the future here, not the past." Nice catch phrase, but if you really think about this statement, it's nonsense. How else are we to determine how a person is going to perform in the future, if not by past performance? If we're dismissing the past, why not just reelect Obama?
I think there are CLEAR distinctions between what Newt and Clinton were doing.
Both where fooling around on their wives. Both were being immoral. Both will be judged by a higher being. So we're clear on that.
I don't condone Newt for his actions. Do I think someone can change. YES. Do I think Newt has. YES..........
Was Newt a hypocrite.....Probably. Is Newt STILL a hypocrite.....I don't know......Do I give a **** about this.............NO.
Lets be clear. You guys who seem to hate Newt simply overlook the glaring facts of the issue. Facts that are way more important than simply if he was having an affair. In reality I don't give a RIP that Clinton was having an affair....WHAT I do care about is the LIES that Clinton told and CONTINUES to tell:
* Newt didn't lie to congress about it.
* Newt didn't lie to the American people about it.
* Newt didn't lie to a special prosecutor about it.
* Newt didn't go on TV.......a NATIONAL BROADCAST and LIE TO YOU.
On the issues, I will take Newt any day.

How Newt's behavior compares to Clinton's is irrelevant. I'm talking about how Newt behaved, and nothing else. He was blatantly hypocritical, and you want to give him a pass on that because you like him. That's fine, you're entitled to do that, but I have to ask you: What indications are there that Newt has changed? To me, if he had had some kind of epiphany and realized how wrong what he did back then was, he wouldn't get angry when asked about it at a debate (how well did that work for Herman Cain, BTW?). He would realize that being asked about it is a part of how politics works today, and answer the question in a way that maybe would give some indication he really HAD changed. To me his response bespeaks just the opposite; he's the same old Newt.I think there are CLEAR distinctions between what Newt and Clinton were doing.

The way politics works today needs to change, and that's the point that Newt made and got a standing ovation for it.
Newt isn't going to just accept that "that's just how it is".......and that's why he's looking better and better.
"That's just how it is" is what got us into this mess.......
