While driving home from work I was rethinking what I wrote...maybe it's the Jehovah's Witness folks I see traveling in two's, riding ten speed bikes, wearing ties, etc...
You are mistaken on this one bug. All Mormon missionaries are volunteers. The youth work and save as they grow up for a mission that last 2 years. And they only do this if they want.I've seen lots of Mormons going through neighborhoods and have NEVER seen them riding bikes nor wearing neckties. The only common thing I've seen among them is that they wear black pants and white shirts and hand out booklets to try and prosetylize. They don't have the pleasure of volunteering, door-to-door recruitment is a requirement.
That is false...Mormons are NOT required to serve missions, they CHOOSE to serve missions. You must be thinking of Jehova Witnesses. Missionaries choose to serve the church for two years (boys), or 1.5 yrs (girls)....they wear church clothing (dress shirts, slacks, ties, etc.), and either travel by bicycle, walking, or cars. It is a COMPLETELY elective thing to do, and is in NO way forced upon anyone in the Mormon church. I should know, I served an LDS mission in Monterrey, Mexico over ten years ago.I've seen lots of Mormons going through neighborhoods and have NEVER seen them riding bikes nor wearing neckties. The only common thing I've seen among them is that they wear black pants and white shirts and hand out booklets to try and prosetylize. They don't have the pleasure of volunteering, door-to-door recruitment is a requirement.

Chubminnow, here is the phone number of a "Chat Line" where you can speak with a Latter Day Saints (Mormon) missionary. Ask him about all this twisted political propaganda and then you will know more about Mormon practices.

I am not of the Mormon faith and I don't think any POTUS will be able to influence this country through their religious beliefs, or lack thereof.
I would vote for Marie Osmond, I would also let her im my house.
This is so wrong! Someone has written this damning garbage in order to make Romney and his religion look bad. It's like it is election time so let's see who can spread the most damning lies. Oh and I am not saying these things because I am a fan of Romney's which I am not! I can say that this is not true because my wife and I are both Mormon.Something came across to me in an email...I have no idea if there's any truth to any of it or not...just figure I would throw it out here for discussion, see what anyone here knows.
1. Mormon policy is that there must be a temple built within a mile of every public high school in America. This policy has actually been implemented successfully in Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Washington, Oregon and is almost complete in Nevada.
2. Mormon parents must seek school board appointment in an effort to enact policies that support the goals of the Mormon church. For example -time away from class as well as class credit for their highschool age children to attend Temple classes during the school day. This policy has been very successful in Arizona. Even at my kids school- which has low Mormon enrollment- the kids are allowed to use first period for temple class- and the temple is just across the street from the high school. This policy allows Mormon’s to use the tax payer provided public school system to their advantage.
3. Mormon’s are strongly encouraged if not required to serve in public office- again in an effort to influence public policy decisions that benefit the Mormon values and goals.
4. Utah has the greatest concentration of Mormons in the country- second is Arizona. Utah has the highest per capita suicide rate in the country- most suicides accomplished with a gun.
5. Mormon’s are required to tithe 10%- and this is checked against pay stubs by the bishop of the stake. (Ward is a parish, a “stake” is a diocese- they took catholic organizational ideas when developing the organization of the Mormon church). If they do not show pay stubs to check their tithing they can be excommunicated.
6. The Mormon’s are very focused on developing networks- they hire only Mormons when they are in a position to hire, they trade amongst themselves including homes-and they have their own financing network. They offer low interest or interest free mortgages to members, also they subsidize college tuition for members going to Brigham Young Univ.
7. Much of the Super Pac money supporting Romney is coming from the Mormon church. The Mormon “church” is a cult, and a very, very clever one. Most of the male members of the church are encouraged to pursue higher educational degrees and public policy positions.
If you elect a Mormon to President you can be assured that the Mormon church’s power, size and influence will grow exponentially.
Romney and the RNC are lying pieces of ****. If he wins the nomination, the republican party is finished.

1. I wish, the world would be a much better place. From LDS.org: 136 Operating (3 Under Renovation), 15 Under Construction, 15 Announced in the world. Are there only 166 high schools in the America?
2. Wrong. In some places in the west where we can, seminary is offered as a elective class, (religion class) where a course of scripture is studied. Seminary in most of the US takes place before the school day starts, usually starting around 5:30 to 6:00am, most generally at the church or at someones home. I have great respect for the teenagers that do attend these classes, as it requires great dedication.Temples classes are not included in the seminary program.
3. We are not encouraged or discouraged.
4. Utah does have the highest concentration of members, I think, but according to what I could find online they are tied with our Kentucky at #11 for suicides.

5. That one is funny. While we do tithe at 10%, it is not checked against pay stubs or anything like that. It is up to an individual whether or not they want to be a full tithe payer and is a personal and independent decision.
6. Wrong. We trade with anyone, just like everyone else, where the best deal can be found.
7. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Every election year a statement is read stating that the Church does not support any candidate or party, and that each member should find the best candidate that fits their own values or ideas.
Anyone with questions concerning our Faith, please go to : http://www.lds.org/?lang=eng to answer your questions.
While I have not decided who is the best candidate yet, I do know that 4 more years at the rate we're going now, it will do in our freedoms and this country as we know it.
Thanks
