    Eggnert ferry bridge

Anybody seen the pictures of the 312ft cargo ship that the hit the bridge? It was to tall to go under it. Luckly no one was hurt. Just wondering what it was doing this far from the ocean. I am not familer with KY waters.

The ship travels from decatur, alabama up through the tennessee river, to the ohio, then to the mississippi, and down to florida. there is a discussion on the kentucky board if you want more information.

I saw that on the news. It happened around 8 pm so it was dark when this occurred.

What a mess they created. That bridge was old and slated to be rebuilt in a few years anyway, but I doubt this has helped anything.

Makes me wonder how the captain could not see the bridge or know it's height or his ships height. I wonder if the captain was AWOL from the Bridge or drinking or on drugs or something? This will inconvience a lot of people.

Ship was in the secondary channel and went under the wrong span. It has made numerous trips before on the TVA. That ship is a dedicated carrier of rocket boosters for NASA and runs from IL down to Decatur AL.
