Dryer sheets work really well also, I put some on my garage floor and in my boat storage compartments. Before doing this, I saw mouse droppings occasionally on my garage floor, since putting dryer sheets out, havent seen the first mouse dropping. Plus they smell good, a lot better than moth balls.
