    bluegrass 2/1

went for two hours yesterday, only had one bite, started to pull drag and got off(jerk bait). The water was 45 deg and in some spots it was 48. lots and lots of shad, I was surprized to see huge bait balls. i guess the water didnt get cold enough to kill them off. Me and Big John are going friday. so maybe we can catch them

Did you see the shad deep, shallow or suspended? I wish I knew more about the gizzard shad as they are the key to finding the big bass and crappie.

If I get back out to Bluegrass I plan on doing some searching for the bait schools of gizzard shad. I've been looking at a lot of new U Tube Videos about the Humminbirds SI unit and what the shad balls look like on the screen.

I saw some photos of the screens where it showed bass attacking the shad balls and you could actually see the shad ball parting at the seas as a bass attacked them. I thought that was cool as heck.

Glad you got to wet a line for a few hours.

I'll be thinking about you guys. I got my truck running a little bit better as I fixed a broken vaccue line and that's helped. But it's still having a hard time starting when it's cold outside. It's been so warm that it's starting fine now. But I know the temps will go down again before April Gets here.

The water's warming up on the top and that's drawing the bait fish up into the top layers where there is more planton and micro-organism swimming in the water. Sunlight is good.
