I have had mine for several years and no complaints. I don't use it all the time though.

I've been thinking about purchasing one of these to use when I bank fish or when I take my little jon boat out to one of the smaller lakes in my area. Does anybody have one or know anybody who has one? I'm wondering about quality of these things. How accurate AND how durable. It looks like they range anywhere from $80-$100 which is too much for me to just take a chance on. Itd be really nice to finally see the bottom structure of these lakes though so if it's a good piece of equipment I'll spend the money.

I have one I recieved as a gift a few years ago. I havent used it very much, I have a boat, but it seems to work ok. I would be interested in selling it. Let me know if your are interested.

I bought one a few years back and I hated it. I tried it several places but I got mixed results. I tried it in my parents pond that is absolutely filled with fish and it didn't register any of them. the pond is actually 15 feet at the deepest part but I couldn't get a depth of over 8 using it. I tried it in a very clear lake I could see bluegill under it and it would occasionally register a fish but more often than not there was nothing. They may be better now or maybe better if you buy a more expensive version.
