I have thought for several years now that the only thing that could possibly save the alcohol companies butts was that unlike the cigarette companies, they admitted that alcohol could harm your health. For years, they have had commercials telling people that excessive alcohol consumption was bad for your health. The cigarette companies for decades denied that smoking was hazardous to your health and finally lost the lawsuits and had to pay big time.

All that being said, what happens next? Will the law firms start suing the fast food companies? Is McDonalds, Wendy's and Captain D's going to be their next target. Everyone capable of rational thought has to know that a lot of "fast food" is not healthy. Too much sugar in the soda, too much salt and fat in the burgers and fries, and too little self control on the part of the consumer. Too many overweight people having health problems and placing a burden on the healthcare system. I am as guilty as the next person because I like my food to taste good and continue to consume the bad stuff on the menu. No one wants to stand up and say that I have a problem, that I am an alcoholic or that I continually over eat. My brother in law was an alcoholic, but according to him it was not his fault. He wanted to blame it on his father not wanting him to play high school basketball. His mother blames it on his friends and coworkers. Everybody needs an excuse to avoid blaming themselves and it does not have to make sense or be rational. For my part it is all about the money for the attorney's, they need more millions.
