The faster the tip, the less it actually bends on down the rod. For example, an x-fast rod tip will bend little. Only the uppermost section of the tip.

So I am buying a new rod and trying to step up in quality some. My question is, what does tip action-xfast, fast, mod fast, moderate-mean? I know it is probably a basic question, stupid to some, but I have no clue. As always thanks for the input.
