Art you can have all the carpet you want...I've had carpet, can't stand it. Heck I even have a 24' Searay Cruiser that has the snap-in style carpet on the deck...the first thing I did with the carpet was unsnap it, roll it up, covered it with a plastic wrapping and it's been sitting in my basement ever since...at least when it comes time to sell, the carpet will look as good as new for someone who likes carpet. To many beverages spilled, we take our dog's with us, etc...when it comes to a fishing boat I definitely don't want carpet either.

Re: Cabela's Superstore Opening in Louisville

I have been to 3 different Cabelas stores, all the same, 1st class, good merchandise at a fair price. I was amazed at their sales people, they were trained to help, not push to buy and allowed you to shop without overpowering you. I was looking for a knot tier, about a $2 item and couldn't find it, a sales person asked if I needed help and he couldn't find it either, no big deal I told him I would just order it from the catalog the next time I ordered and went on to another department to shop rain suits, about 45 minutes later here comes the salesman with my part, he had walked the store until he found me...all over a $2 part, I think this was in the Sidney Nebraska store. You can also join the Cabalas Club, they offer a Visa card that they pay points on which can be redeamed at the store or through the catalog, I run everything through mine and with the bonus points usually get agout $600 free goods a year, pay it off each month and haven't paid them a cent to use it since 1996. I can say nothing bad about Cabelas. Very happy to see them openning a store here.

I have purchased ammo on more than one occasion from them but that's about it. How far will this new store be from Lex?

From Etown, one trip, with Cabella's in town, will let me hit BP, Cabella's, and Dicks Sporting Goods. Now we just need to add in Louisville or Southern Indiana:

    West Marine
    Boaters World
    Jamestown Distribtor's
    Overton's
    Gander Mountain

I like cabelas, because when I made jigs, they had the best selection of tying fur. They also have more terminal tackle than BPS. The store in NW In. has a great selection of great lakes gear.Go there several times a year when I'm back visiting.
