people who vandalize other peoples property dont need a reason to do it,thats just the kind of people they are! a person used to be able to go to the lake for the weekend and leave their equipment in the boat and nobody bothered any thing. now you go for 4 hours and you wonder if your vehicle will be at the ramp when you get back in. unfortunately, its a sign of the times.
I was at Wheeler back in the fall. I returned to the ramp and a guy ask me if I was a cop b/c I dont go anywhere without my SIG. I told him no. He said I should check local laws about packing a firearm in public. I told him about my second amendment and ask him if he'd ever been robbed and he told me yes. With my hand patting my weapon and somewhat of a smirk I told him I hadn't.
I am going to be down there March 4-6, but I am going to be driving my wife's car, so they can vandalize her stuff! LOL
I'll see ya down there. Be there those exact dates. A lot of tourneys that coming weekend. Might be interesting.
As far as Indiana beating KY. Don't get used to it. Neutral floor would 10+ points Kentucky. Was a good game though.
I am getting there on Sunday evening, fishing all day Monday, part of the day Tuesday and then driving home.
...or some Kentucky fisherman are telling lies because Bama kicked EVERYONES a$$ in football and UK was 3 and 6 in the SEC and 5 and 7 overall.
Oh yea !! There are two sports isn't there !! Roll Tide !!
I'm heading out to Guntersville Thursday night. Cannot wait to get on the water.
Don't know about the vandalism, but I wouldn't doubt it. Vandals could get their motivation from people like a guy I ran into at Lowes in Bowling Green the other day.
The guy was showing pics to 2 other guys and crowing about how he was catching big bass 2 at a time on the A-rig at Guntersville. Naturally I drifted on over there to check out the pics. "To give you an idea" he was saying, "that one in the middle weighed over 6 pounds". The pic on his phone had 18 big largemouth laying on some kind of table, all dead and ready for the knife. Most of them weren't much smaller than the 6 pounder he was pointing at. And that was only one of the pics.
My wife saw the signs and took me by the arm trying to lead me away, but I was hot. I told them if people killed every big bass they caught there wouldn't be much left. Well, that was the gist of it, I told them a few other choice things also.
Now, it's not my place to police the fish populations, and I really had no right to judge someone legally harvesting fish, but the senseless gluttony made me mad as hell. It also made me consider jumping on the 'ban the Alabama rig' bandwagon.
A few locals watching him and his buddies cut up who knows how many big bass and word gets around.
