Been to one and enjoyed myself but won't be at this one. Sure would be nice to go fishing down there one day!

The Outdoor Expo is always cool. Outside of Icast, it is the premier fishing show imo.

I am lucky enough to get media credentials and have been an observer for many anglers. In 1999 I was in the boat with Alton Jones in New Orleans and we made a 2 1/2 hour run one way to get to his fishing spot. We locked through to the Mississippi River, locked through on to the Gulf, then back into freshwater. I saw alligators and porpoises on the same boat ride. It was nuts. Two other boats went to the same general area, Gary Klein and Dean Rojas. On the way back across the Mississippi Rojas hit a barge wake that had is prop out of the air.

I hate to miss the Classsic, but my consolation prize will be fishing Guntersville in less than two weeks.

I bet that was a site, locking and going that far. I was hoping Skeet could be here to defend his title on the red, but since he has been out of the picture I would say that Ike has a good shot!

jigfishin, if you are interested, you can join our fantasy fishing league. I have the link to the site on the Kentucky discussion board here at this site. You don't need a password, just leave that blank.

With conditions being what they are down there, it sounds like the river is going to fish small. I would like to see Kevin Wirth do well, since it is his last tournament. I would love to see Bill Lowen win it for a selfish reason, I have an article in Bass Angler Magazine with him and it is getting ready to come out.

I think he is just burnt out. He lost Early Times as his primary sponsor and didn't want to fork over his own money for the entry fee's.

Well if he wins, then he can defend his own classic title. That would be something to do right there.

I think VanDam is the favorite in every tournament he fishes, but I didn't pick him on my fantasy team. I like Ott Defoe's chances even though he is a Classic rookie. Other guys to watch imo are the river rats like Bill Lowen and Stephen Browning. Should be exciting, but it looks like it is going to be tough.
