Could be a tough one...Bost could drop 30 and put us behind and in foul trouble early...
Cats by 10.
Have had a funny feeling about this game on the schedule all year long...don't know why...just do...
And so far, they're running us out of their house...
UK will break one off in them by game's end.......to the tune of about 15 points.
Watching some terrible officiating in this game. Uk is getting mugged down low.
I think it was good to see the Cats get pushed a little, both physically and mentally...They showed a lot of heart in the second half and I think a few more games like this one down the stretch would be good for them in the long run
I've said it all season and I'll say it again....I know Marquis Teague is developing into a good true point guard, but I think they look better with Lamb running things
I'm afraid tonights game showed a few weaknesses in UK's game that other teams might look to take advantage of....If you pull Davis away from the basket in the pick n roll game, you really open up the middle of the lane....UK isn't a physical team other than MKG, and if you push them around you can win the inside game
Without a doubt the best UK team since 1996. Every team since loses that game by 25 but not this team. They keep finding a way to shut people down and with the Best Top 6 players in College, it is going to take a TON to beat the Cats. MKG flat put the clamps on Bost and a TEAM effort on offense put The Hump in a Slump. Best Defensive team that I have ever seen at UK with balanced scoring inside and out makes them the team to beat. 2 teams are head and shoulders above every other team in the country, UK and Syracuse. I hope both teams win out all the way to the National Title game and let the 2 best teams decide it. I will take the Cats
Davis is the key, really.I'm afraid tonights game showed a few weaknesses in UK's game that other teams might look to take advantage of....If you pull Davis away from the basket in the pick n roll game, you really open up the middle of the lane....UK isn't a physical team other than MKG, and if you push them around you can win the inside game
You get him in foul trouble or pull him out from the bucket, and we are back on our heels a bit.
There was a point late in the 2nd Half where it was like somebody huddled up, said alright boys, let's quit dicking around....and we poured it to them. DEFENSE, once again, locked down tighter than a ninja death grip in the last 5 minutes.
I KNEW that when we were down 7 without about 7:00 minutes to go, and during one of the timeouts I see Jones and Gilchrist laughing and joshing with each other while they were waiting on play to resume, that we weren't rattled in the slightest...I don't think they ever doubted that they would work their way back and win it.
Champions just find a way to win and never lose the faith. I'm **** impressed with the comeback in the 2nd half, the poise, and the hard nose play to overcome a horrible first half performance. And on the road...and in a hostile environment.
This team is special.
Mississippi looked like they just laid down once the cat's took that one point lead. These boys just keep pecking away and pulled it out.
I thought UK played well down the stretch especially Miller hitting those big threes and Gilchrist driving the lane and creating issues. I do think State layed a film blueprint on how to beat UK by pulling Davis away from the basket. UK has become so dependent on Davis to block litterally everything that when he's not under the basket it looks easy to score.
Also Miss St had lost three in a row and one at HOME to Georgia.....Georgia, really, lol. Now I'm not saying State isn't a decent team because they are but the best win they have all year is over a overrated Vandy team. UK still does not have a signature road win in my opinion, I mean one that makes me take pause. True road win, not a neutral floor win. Are they an awesome team yes they are, am I ready to shine up the trophy for them, no not really. Teague is not ready for the primetime in the NCAA stretch run. Lamb makes them better at the point but it does hurt them from him spotting up to hit the three.
Just some observations an opinions fellas, not hatin, just giving my two cents.
They take your heart away with their non stop Defense and Effort. Plus teams finally realize that they can't stop Miller and Lamb from the outside, MKG everywhere and Jones / Davis down low so they quit trying. It is too bad Jones decided to not play against IU, or an undefeated season would be in the discussion. I really hope they put Syracuse in the East and Kentucky in the South Brackets for a shot to meet for the title.
I already had a guy bet me an 18 pack of long necks that Kentucky would win it all. I was thirsty and jumped all over that bet....
