Went this past Sunday. Casted around the dam area for an hour or two with no bites. Water was 41-44 degrees depending where I fished. Graphed a lot of fish 20-28 feet deep near the dam. Guessing they were hybrids or catfish. Couldn't get a sniff from whatever they were. May try again this Sunday if the weather cooperates.
Did you go?
I went and fished for 4 hours Sunday afternoon. I found an abundance of shad up in the creeks, with many dying off, halfway alive, etc. - fished all around the shad and only had one bite, but it was a big one! It hit, took drag immediately, I couldn't turn it or anything, and it ended up straightening the hook out.
Water temp was 44 at the dam, and around 45/46 degrees up in the creeks. The water color was a little muddier than I like to see it, especially around Possum Ridge.
I might try it again this weekend, just depends on the weather. It was nice out there in the sunshine!![]()
No I didn't end up making it out there, had a busy Sunday. Thanks for the report. The water needs to clear up a little and warm up a little before they turn on in my opinion. Should be free this coming weekend and there's no school Friday so may get back out there then. Will report if I do. And too bad you didnt get a better look at that big one.
Thanks for the info guys. it is much appreciated.
