I went mid march last year for four days and limited out every day on whites. We put in at bacon creek and ran up river about 15 miles but I did manage to catch a few in the mouth of bacon creek while waiting for the boat trailer to get backed in.

Ive never fished for white bass thought i might give it a try. Was wondering when they started running up river on nolin. Also wondering if their were any place along bacon creek where you could park truck and wade the creek that has public access or if anyone lives along river that would give me permission to fish. I've heard they run up bacon creek or do they stick to nolin river?

what is the best bait to use for them?
It the river is low durning winter pool it's super hard to run a boat above bacon creek. If you the lake is up and the river is running good like last spring. It's not bad. But you use grubs, crankbaits, spinners, etc. about anything that looks like a swimming bait fish!!
Lots of people walk the banks around Bacon Creek fishing for them. That's the $100 question as to when? You may also want to head on up to Broad Ford up river as there is bank access there also. Bridge accross river. Right hand side downstream has a well worn path you can't miss. Walk downstream and you will come to the ripples. If you can't find parking at Broad Ford Bridge then there running. Have found them as far upstream as Spurrier and last year with the high waters found them as far as White Mills dam. Some 52 miles up stream.
hey guys thanks for the info may go try it out one day soon.
