A serious question

For all the negative stuff about the lottery and all the misinformation, I know one thing the lottery provides.....college money for Kentucky kids. Google keys money. It is real and my daughter is using some to pay her tuition right now.

Really, I haven't notcied Bugsy Segal and the boys sniffing around southern Indiana. This is not Las Vegas in the early days. How come we don't see new jails built where the added casinos? You would think there would be a huge need for them with all the crime these casinos bring, yet that doesn't seem to be the case.

Did I miss something? I thought you and a few others were talking about a refrendum for/against legalizing casinoes in Kentucky. Somehow the Kentucky lottery scholarships got thrown into the mix. btw, I do wish your daughter all the best as she pursues her college education.

The reason there aren't more new jails in cities where casinoes are prevalent is because the tax money is used for law enforcement to arrest the criminals, run them through the court system with a public defender paid with tax money, some are released on probation, others are jailed, some are treated like fishing: CATCH AND RELEASE. Money that was allocated for new jails is being used for pet projects of everyone from the governor, to the sheriff, to the commissioners, and everyone else who wants a piece of the pie.
