Smile Can I boast a little?

I'm not that bright, I'm the first to admit it.The only success has been finding smart tolerant mates. My first wife, an honor student at a catholic high school, was a stay at home mom, who wouldn't tolerate a B from our children. They were both honors graduates from different universitys. My grandson is at Purdue, and will begin a paid internship this summer. My younger grandson, got a gold medal for his violin playing yesterday in downstate In. He is also going to be a Purdue freshmen this fall. Both have athletic letters, and awards. My grand daughter is a freshmen at a satelite of Geogia U.The second wife was my arm candy, but also quite inteligent, and thrifty. Both died and are missed, but what they did for me, will never die.So I'm not lucky at cards, or lotteries. But have wonderful memories.

    Excellent, EXCELLENT post my friend.

I think most of us want our kids and grandkids to excel and be better than we were. Both of my daughters have been given opportunities I never had. Hopefully those opportunities are passed onto their kids.

I don't have grandkids yet.....hopefully NOT for a long, long time, but when I do, I hope they excel as your grandkids have.

    You've definitely done something right.....

    Later,

    Geo

Great post gorski. You should take a huge amount of pride in their achievements as well as having the memories of what strong women you were fortunate to have in your life.

Sounds like you have been blessed with a nice family that you can be proud of. Although you are being modest, as the patriarch of the family I am sure you have helped contribute to that as well.

I agree with DJD boast away you have earned it. I'm sorry for your loss but you were very lucky to have two great partners in life. I am lucky I have one and she is still here keeping me in line as well as she can. I am also lucky to have three great grandchildren and as you know they are the greatest gift you can have.
