So, pretty much everyone knows that I'm a big drill here, drill now fan. I'm also a fan of finding and producing alternative fuels IF they can be found and produced cheaper than existing fuels.
I read an article in a magazine about converting natural gas into Methanol, and then using that as an existing fuel source. The article seemed compelling, so I did some of my own research and came up with this link.....

Now, here is the issue........we already know that e85 is not as efficient as gasoline, BUT if we could make methanol from natural gas, and use it instead of ethanol in e85, isn't that a better solution than turning our corn into alcohol for fuel.
EVEN if this "m85" was 30% less efficient than pure gasoline...if it is 30% cheaper than existing fuels it is a win, win.
What do you guys think.
Later,
Geo
