    Crappie at Boltz Lake

I recently read that Boltz Lake in Grant County has an overpopulation of crappie and that steps are being taken to alleviate the problem.

My question is this: are the crappie currently biting well enough to take a couple of kids along to bankfish and keep them busy for an hour or two? We aren't overly interested in size, the kids just want to land a few.

Probably not yet. In 2 weeks they should be on the banks or moving up. If the current weather holds up. There are alot of small crappie with an occasional keeper.
