A pretty good cheap one with lifetime warranty is the Shimano Clarus 7'6" heavy. When I bought mine they were $69.99/tax. Pretty good rod & cheap for the lifetime warranty if you ask me.

Hey guys I am looking for a new flipping rod for jigs and creature style plastics. I would really like to keep it under $200 and I hate split grip rods so I dont want one of those. I have been flipping with a 7ft hvy action B&R Outlaw rod which I love but I am looking for another flipping rod with a lighter tip than what I have now. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't trade my St Croix Avid series rods for anything else at any price.
im with you on the split grips , and i will be glad when the fad to make rods the ugliest most obnoxious colors availble is over.
i have 2 clarus 7-6 med heavy with the full cork handle, both have revo sx reels. they are heavy duty outfits. one is for pitchin/flippin bass. the other is for long casting big swimbaits for stripers. they do both jobs very well for not alot of money.
probably not the most sensitive rods on the market, but still well worth the money
good luck
For $200, you could probably get a custom made on a castaway BB1 or BB2 which is a good flipping blank. Other blanks to look at are the batson, mudhole mhx, and maybe even a seeker blank. What size weight are you throwing? What size line are you using?
I would head to Bass Pro and check out every flipping stick they have till you find 1 you like everybodies preference is different I have a 7' BPS Carbon Lite Series and I love it light & very sensitive
I agree with hairball St Croix is the bomb Avid in particular. If you want to stay under your limit St Croix Premier 7'6 heavy is a nice addition in a made in USA rod.Hey guys I am looking for a new flipping rod for jigs and creature style plastics. I like my St. Croix Mojo Bass, but it has a split grip. I think the split grip gives me the ability to feel more bites.![]()
I have a 7'6" MH B&R Outlaw rod for pitching. If you like the heavier, I think you get more control with the M/H.
You beat me to it. Nice rods made by some custom builders out there. For that price I would go with a custom rod. You can get what you want for less than a factory rod in that price range.
