Sick of cig butts!

Just watched a car with several smokes toss their cig butts out at a traffic light. I looked down where the driver side butt landed and sure enough there are several dozen ready there that I can see. It's disgusting to begin with, harmful, stinks and yellows yo' teef but to get a free pass and get to toss butts out at will is wrong! Rant over and I DO feel better.

they are nasty for sure, in Tennessee it's a 50.00 fine for tossing one.

I hate it also. The worst experience I ever had with them was about thirty years ago. I was driving down a highway with my sunroof open and this clown ahead of me flips his lit butt high out his window and it landed in my car! So I had to try and grab this nasty thing before it burn my seats! If I ever wished I had the authority to pull someone over it was then.

No one is allowed to smoke in my house or in my car; no exceptions. If someone tosses a cigarette butt down in the yard, I tell them to pick it up and carry it with them. They are not biodegradable and are made of a type of acetate that never fully breaks down. If they are clean enough to put in your mouth, the butts are are clean enough to carry in your pocket or ashtray.

Most of us here probably recycle everything in the house we can, I know I do...but for some people, they think the world is their ashtray.

I recycle my cigarette butts. Strip the paper off, and use the fiber filter as earplugs around non-smokers.

I respect their air, and stay well clear. In fact, I guess you could say I try to stay "out of ear range".
