    Towing hitch info

I bought a new Curt brand towing hitch, and I already had a 2" reese bar and ball. and it doesn't fit very tight in the Curt hitch. thought I'd ask on here before I buy a Curt brand bar. are the 2" Curt bars a little fatter than the 2" Reese brand bars. thanks in advance for any info on this.

    Dog,

The powder coating can vary a bit on any of them...I had a Curt ball mount in a Curt hitch and it rattled a little too. The same thing happens with other brands, so it's real common. Curt makes an anti-rattle kit that will quiet it right up...it's basically a pin and clip with a tightening mechanism on it. It'll run you about $20, so if your current mount is good, no sense wasting it. Your local Curt guy probably has one or can get one quick.

That hitch may have indirectly came from my company, depending on where you are and where you bought it. We distribute Curt products to installers across KY and Southern Indiana. Good choice on your hitch, because Curt is a great American Company, with their stuff made up in Eau Claire Wisconsin. Best hitch on the market in my biased opinion.

My Reese hitch insert that's on my pickup always bumped and moved but now that it's been on the truck since 1995 it's rusted/swelled nice and tight! Lol

I don't mind a little rattle, but the reese insert, inside the curt hitch. is a little much for me. think I may just spot wield it in place, and stop the rattle.
