Fished saturday, lake is winter pool and has a lot of color really dark for barren. Water temps started out 51 got up to 55. It took 23lbs to win saturday and 26lbs to win on Sunday and I am 90 percent sure all was caught on crank bait. Hope it helps.

I am not sure the preferred protocol on this forum, whether I should ask and unrelated Barren question on a thread like this or start an entire new thread for just one simple question? I guess I will ask it here and apologize if this is considered hijacking the thread.

This year will be my first time on Barren and just in order to get some idea on spacing maybe someone could answer this for me.

If I put in at the State park ramp and traveled to the Beaver Creek access ramp (going long way around Narrows) at a casual pace of maybe 10-15 mph how long would it take me to get there? LOL reading this, it sounds like one of those old math questions we used to get in school.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Going 50 mph and knowing your way around, I guess it takes a good 20 min. At 10-15 mph it would be quicker to just drive your trailer and boat to beaver creek.

Thanks a lot for the info I appreciate it. This was just to give me a frame of reference, and you helped me with that. Yes you are right and driving would be faster if time was a factor. I am hoping that most often when I'm fishing time won't be a factor and I can just spend a nice day enjoying nature as well as fishing. For myself, generally a slow day of fishing is a plus.
