-When you register you show Id to prove you are the person registering. When you vote, you should show Id to prove that the same person registered, is the person voting against that registered name. Otherwise "Miquel" registers, and "Juan posing as" does the voting.

So if you want to gain even more support from 2 groups of voters, blacks and Hispanic, that were a big contributor to you before, what do you do? If you are a politician, you make more of those folks eligible to vote.

Besides, why does an illegal immigrant get a benefit that I as a citizen born and raised have to show ID (and so gladly) to exercise.
