Ive heard they are starting to catch them in the headwaters at Herrington. I'll be out tomorrow night and well let you know. Looking forward to an update from Taylorsville.
Please let us know the Taylorsville report, I plan on going there the last couple weekends of this month looking for white bass.
Very spotty fishing for white bass in the headwaters of Taylorsville right now.
Caught 14 today in all sizes, but all in one spot. Nothing in other spots. Nothing to indicate a real "run" is going on yet. I was surprised to see the lake was actually low. I think more rain would actually help.
Was at taylorsville on Tuesday and your right the water was lower than usual. I think they are preparing for another wash out spring.Very spotty fishing for white bass in the headwaters of Taylorsville right now.

It has actually been at winter pool. That is normal for this time of year. Today it is up about a foot, I suspect if it continues to rain today it may go over summer pool soon. I will be out there on Sunday, I will report back on the Dead Sea then. Hoping to hit the white bass run just right, considering the higher than normal temps and the dogwoods blooming, it may be just right.
Same for Herrington tonight. Few small males. Bite was not very aggressive at all. Maybe another week or so...
Hi Folks,
Tried Dix River above Herrington Sat.,3/17/12.Fished Hwy. 52 Bridge between Lancaster & Danville ,got skunked.I went and bought minnows, then fished at
Rankin Bottoms;caught 1 bluegill & a nice 2 foot long channel cat.No White bass for me, but I did see some people with a few on a stringer at Rankin Bottoms.
I don;t think the actual spawn run has started yet,but it probably is getting ready to pop off.
Kurt
Fished headwaters of Taylorsville Sunday and got skunked. Water was very muddy. Temp was 69 at Van Buren ramp and 64 up river.
