I went to my favorite pond last night. Caught 6-3 keepers-all of which were right against the bank. I actually cast on the bank and drug it gently into the water because the bass were super spooky. With them being that tight to the bank and super shallow, are they ready to nest? Or is this a normal thing for early spring?
I went to a pond yesterday and as soon as i walked to the edge of the water the bluegill and bass where shooting back out to deeper water. I think they are moving up for the warmth of the shallows and maybe scouting out for places to spawn. I do beleive the spawn could be started a month early this year though. Crawfish start comming out of there hinding holes as soon as the water starts warming and the fish could be looking for a easy meal. Also you are right they are super spooky ! Later jc
