The point was to put a mildly humorous slant on how the sportsmanship often gets lost in the sports. A lot of that going on around here.

I try my best I swear I do... I just wish when the fur and mud starts flying I could be more able to let it go. I try but dang it......it gets me almost everytime. It's usually the real mean spirited stuff that gets me ready to kick a beagle pup...''I would never really do that''.
Most of the light hearted stuff I can go back and forth with, but when it gets nasty I get nasty back. It's wrong and childhess but I admit I do it, I am starting to mellow more each year as I get older though, lol..
I've got some friends that would take a sword for me but if you get on their Cats they go all Charles Manson in a bird dog second, lol...

I hear you Mark. It's politics that gets me rock and rolling.

A lapse every now and then is understandable, but it's more of a problem when most every thread gets hijacked into a string of idiotic personal insults.

You know.......my team......Indiana has not played in a NCAA tourney in 4 years. I'm a diehard fan. BEEN one for years.

Next week, there is an opportunity for IU/UK to be playing in a Sweet 16 matchup. I also have a chance to go fishin. First time in 3 months......KY Lake. The stars lined up, work is going to set me free, and I buddy is paying the tab.....

Tell you what I'm doing boys......I'm hooking up the boat, and going fishing. I can WATCH the game hilights. My life doesn't center around some silly ass round ball and a bunch of kids running around a **** court.

Sportsmanship gets lost when people take up a team like they would a religion. Those people see it as more than just a game, to them it's like a big battle of right vs. wrong, or good vs. evil, that each outcome will change the shape of their lives and possibly even the world....I like to laugh at those people, and thoroughly enjoy messing with them to see what lengths they'll go to defend their team/cause; some are just down right ridiculous as evidenced here. I don't take any of it seriously, and I really don't know why anyone else would either. It's just a game and nothing more. The trash talk and nonsense that's been posted over the last few weeks has been very humorous and entertaining for me, and it baffles me as to why there would be complaints about it. It's funny stuff! Life's too short to be so serious all the time.
