    Dale Hollow for Beginners

My dad just bought a boat and wants to go to Dale Hollow and try to catch some crappie. Where could he and I go to try and catch some crappie. We are both beginners and have never fished for crappie before. Any help would be great.

    Thanks

Personally, I think there are better lakes for Crappie than Dale, although it's not bad. I would suggest the Wolf River arm for them. Right now is prime time for good smallmouth fishing, so I would keep that in mind.

I've been to Dale many times, yet I still feel like a beginner myself. It can be a very humbling lake, but there is no other I'd rather fish. Just talking about it makes me ITCH to get down there!

If you are looking for GOOD solid crappie you definitely NEED to check out ky lake and barkley. Those are probably without a doubt the best crappie lakes around. I love dale hollow, its by far my favorite lake, we have a cabin just up from wisdom marina but thats more a smallie lake, be sure to check out barkley and ky, you wont be disappointed.
    Good luck!

I live here fish dayily and a good limit of crappie gets more attention than 4.5 lb small mouth. Its a beautiful lake, just not a lake your typical fishing style, or aproach is productive. With that said, hope you get to visit
go to the smalljaw site mentioned, an read an reread everyday till you head this way.
if I can be of any help just prior to your arrival the day before email me I have a dock buddy who is staying on top of them (crappie), will help if I can.
