Humminbird 1198c Help Please

I installed my new 1998c on my Xpress H51 no Jack Plate and took it out this weekend fishing.
Here is my problem when in SI the screen shows both left and right sides but the entire left side is blank nothing there, Saturday after I got home I moved the transducer to the lowest part on the left back side of my Boat I thought maybe the motor was in the way so I went out today and still the same problem,
So fare I have reset to Factory setting, Moved transducer, checked the setting to insure that the Both was picked when displayed I also chose the left side and then the whole screen is blank,
This is a New unit and never been installed any help would be appreciated, the Down imagining and enhanced Fire ? screen work great, Thanks in advance Dave

I spoke with Tec Support this morning and was told to first check the Views and make sure they were all On. then rest to factory setting, then power of then back on so updates can take. if this does not work I was told I may need to send transducer back.
If anyone lives in the Cincinnati Ohio area with a 1198c that would be willing to let me see if there unit does the same with my Transducer I would really appreciate it.

Sounds like a bad transducer. Even if there was something blocking the view, you would still get something on the screen. Also check to make sure there are no bent pins where the plug connects to the unit.
