    Scott County Park

Any of you guys ever fish the two "lakes" at Scott County Park in Georgetown (the second one is in another park just south of Scott County Park)?

I just discovered them. Not sure what's in there, if anything. But the signage had stocking schedules, etc. I caught a small bluegill on a spinner the other day. But the spinner was far too big for that small of a fish and it ended up taking me about 5 minutes to get the **** treble hook out of it's mouth. So I've stocked up on a bunch of lures and stuff for panfish and plan on going back. Just wondered if anybody else ever fishes there.

I've done the larger of the two about four times with varying degrees of success. I do know that there are bluegills, sunnies, crappie, trout, catfish and largemouth in there as I have caught at least one of each of them.

Lusby is a different matter. Only fished that once so far and had a rough day with just two bluegills between three of us.

Thanks for the info Dave. Might just go to Jacobson instead of driving all the way to Georgetown again. Would probably have about the same luck at either place.

Are you going out Wednesday morning? If so, I'm going to give Lake Mingo another chance. Come over and say hi!

Nicholasville. I'll be over there, all being well, from about 8.30 to 11.30am.

They were scheduled to stock both Scott county park lakes with trout yesterday. Inline spinners and corn on the bottom seem to work good for the trout.

I remember reading that on the board but completely forgot about it. I think I will stop by there some time tomorrow in the evening and see if I can get on some trout. Thanks.

Don't forget your trout permit if you're planning on keeping any. A stocking nearly always guarantees a visit from KDF&W during the week or so afterwards.

I've tried fishing that a couple of times and never had any real success. I think I've caught a bluegill or two.

Re. Lake Mingo: TBH I've had one good day there, last fall. Other than that it's just the usual small stuff. I only have three hours each Wednesday morning so it's either Mimgo or Jacobson realistically.

I didn't get the trout permit on this year's license. But can I still fish and catch and release any trout?
