Ok I'm being lazy but whats the warranty again on these rods? Take it to any retailer and get an over the counter swap? Thanks!

Lifetime warranty. Should be over the counter but everybody handles that differently. I know for a fact that A2O boating in jeffersonville will take care of it with no questions asked. They took care of one for me. Plus they have great tackle!

Yeah, I think it is still an over the counter swap. At least when my reel seat came unglued it still was.

Bass Pro will not swap them without a receipt or proof of purchase from the rewards database. Manager said Shimano has really cut down on the swap out with no proof of purchase. I have broken two of them, one a casting and the other a spinning. I swapped out my casting with no questions asked at Bass Pro with proof of purchase but they will not take my spinning. I looked online at Shimano and they were saying they needed proof of purchase as well and they did not cover rods purchased from online auction sites. I bought mine from bass boat central and ahve no proof. Trying to figure out what to do with mine

Talked with a local Tackle Shop and they said it has to be sent back for so Shimano can replace it. $15 fee and prolly take 5 days. I would do it but I'm really wanting to fish with it this weekend so I'll wait. I broke about 2" off the tip so I just cut it back to the next eye and it's been fine. Sure wish I had over the counter replacement!!

Hey DJD, I ship them back directly to Shimano....Cut the rod into pieces and ship it in a really short rod tube....send me a PM and I'll hunt down the address and a customer service number for ya...I've sent 3 back to them and they run me about 5 bucks to ship and they send me back the replacement rod....usually takes about a week
