Guntersville fist of April?

Headed down for a few days early in April. Never been to Guntersville and wondering what conditions we will be facing and what I should be planning to throw? Staying mid lake.

Stay in Scottsboro, dont waste your time going to the lower end of the lake as it is bigger, rougher water for the most part. I stayed at the Best Western in Guntersville and was dissapointed, their ramp and dock wasnt very impressive and we had to drive 30 miles north to get to the good shallow areas of the creek. Berkley makes a swimming power bait that is weighted and hooked all ready, it was dynamite in shad color. Also, smokin shad zoom swimbaits worked on the alabama rig. Make sure the weather is not gonna have no cold fronts or windy days, those two will ruin a trip to Guntersville. Good Luck and fish shallow.
