Draining lower unit oil.

For years, I've always made sure the engine was straight up and down vertically when I drained the lower unit.

The Honda I have has the drain plug at the front portion of the lower unit.
So wouldn't it drain more throughly if I tilted the engine say 30 degrees forward when I drain it?

My drain plug hole is in a similar place as yours. I always have the motor with a little positive trim to ensure the drain plug hole is located at the lowest angle, allowing all the fluid to drain. I have had my motor for 11 years and always changed my own fluid this way.

You da man! I'll follow the lead. Just seems logical, so I guess that's why I overlooked it so long. Thanks, appreciate it.

i have always trimed mine back and forth a little bit at a time to make sure i got it all
