Been keeping an eye on it for the past couple of days. I rode down to the Tyrone ramp today. Water color is good, slightly stained. The current is still kinda swift for my liking though. According to USGS, the current flow rate is 5200 cfs. I usually haven't had much luck until its under 2000 cfs. Next weekend, barring any heavy rains, the river should be perfect. Don't get me wrong though, it is still very fishable. Good luck if you go!!!

    Re: KY River-anyone know conditions

I have fished the river a couple of times in last couple weeks, but i fish around frankfort area. The river has been to swift and muddy to try but have been doing quite well up in any of the creeks. They are feeding well, big n fat, after anything i have thrown. One creek i fished was blocked with logs just a little ways back, pulled boat up an tied up to it and caught probably 15 bass, 3 over 3 lbs. They were just in the timber with their nose in facing the current waiting for anything swimming down the creek. Gonna try to get out tomorrow to maybe get some crappie.

Fished about 2 1/2 hours in the light rain upstream from high bridge. Water was 62-66 in spots and slightly stained but perfect for this time of year. Good ol' river as I caught all the fish on the same crankbait- largemouth, ky bass, small mouth, drum and shell cracker. Largest was 19" and no eggs and was the shallowest of all of the fish in less than 1 foot of water next to current. Total of 8 bass with only two being less than 12".
