I find it ironic that I tell the kids the same thing that my father told me. Don't horse him in! I took my younger cousin fishing with me up at Patoka years ago. He hooked into a nice 3 or 4 lb lm bass and was trying to reel him in fast and I yelled at him, Don't Horse him in"! He lost the fish and never forgot that I said to him. He was really dejected at losing that bass.

Ironic that in todays leading Bass Tournaments that practically jerk them into the boat and you see the bass flying though the air these days. My how times have changed. And yet back in those days we used braided line too. All these young kids think that braided line is something new? Heck when I started bass fishing all the line was braided and we had not seen any monofilament line yet. CA 1958.
