I've been with the same Insurance company for a lot of years. and my Daughter got Insurance with Triple A, they saved her about 900.00 per year. and she was with the same company that I have. I'm going to give the Insurance lady a call, one day this week and see what she can do for me. my question is, do any of you guys have or ever had Insurance with Triple A, if so what do you think about them, do they offer you a teaser rate to get your business, then keep raising your rates. or are they pretty straight. thanks for any info.

I don't have Triple-A Insurance, but know some folks who have switched to using them in order to save money. Don't know about the teaser rates to get the intial business then raising rates later...but I would be interested to find out what others experiences have been.
Question - Since you changed to Triple-A, did they quote you apples for apples against the coverages your other insurance company was providing you with?
I haven't switched yet, but my Daughter has. and I asked her if the coverage was the same, and she said yes. and she faxed the company she had been with over 10 years the AAA quotes. and said if they would match the AAA quotes she would stay with them. and they told her they didn't see how AAA could sale her the coverage that cheap. that statement got me to thinking, it may be a teaser rate, to get her business. if they are for strait with their prices, I'll give them my business. thats why I was asking anyone on this board if they had AAA insurance, and what kind of company they are.I don't have Triple-A Insurance, but know some folks who have switched to using them in order to save money. I was with KFB from the time I got my license at 16 until I had one fender bender at the age of 24. It was barely an accident. But since I had them replace my front windshield that somebody decided to bust out a few months before, they said I was considered high risk and wanted to charge me around $2K every 6 months. For the first 4 years I paid them around $180/mo. being that I was a young driver, even though I had a good grade discount and a driver's school discount. Then I bought a newer car around 20 and got full coverage with 100/300/100. Still paying around $200/mo. for about a year when I received a discount at age 21. Dropped me down to about $170 a month. So I paid them almost $16K over those 8 years and had two small claims totalling less than $2000 and they wanted to basically double my rate. Told them no thanks and switched to Progressive immediately. Started off way less than what KFB wanted, turned 25, bought a house, added a motorcycle, and my rates have done nothing but go down. With 100/300/100 full coverage, un/und insured motorist, and a $500 deductible, I pay about $150/mo. for my 08 F150 and my 07 GSXr 750 combined. Thinking about switching my homeowners over too now that they offer that. Gonna look into it soon. I highly recommend them for their rates and service. When the ice storm dropped a branch on my car I took it to a good local shop, paid my deductible, and the car looked good as new. Never saw an increase from that incident, just stayed steady for about a year and a half instead of the usual decrease.
It's not a bad idea to shop your insurance each year. My wife went through the Dave Ramsey program a year or two ago, and this was a big topic.
We checked with several places, even a few that are Dave Ramsey certified, and ended up saving a ton of money.
EMC is who we are with now, and have a local agent here in Louisville that is extremely helpful and always available. Our agent goes above and beyond to help, which was clearly demonstrated when my wife was out of town and hit a deer.
I fought that age thing for years. I was told that all males under the age of 28 were considered high risk, and insurance companies charged out the rear because of it....accident free or not. I had a clean record, good student discount, and no reason for them to charge me a high rate, but they did anyways. My younger sister had a lower rate than me simply because she was female, and she did not have a clean record...heck I think females are more high risk than males!I was with KFB from the time I got my license at 16 until I had one fender bender at the age of 24.
