Ky River, Dix River, Elkhorn Creek, Stoner Creek and Herrington Lake are mostly surrounded by private properties. I don't have a boat and surely don't want to be shoot dead. Taylorsville Lake has great public access sites. It's just too far away to explore it thoroughly. Ideally I'd like some places I can cast a few times after work everyday with decent results.

Not to mention Jacobson Park (granted it stinks). But there are plenty of fishing opportunities in the area. Some places will naturally be limited however, you do have to have a stream or adequate water source, but IMO there are plenty, and also not much more the KDFWR can really do to increase this, they can't create streams in Lexington.
