They DO pay sales and property tax.

I'm still unsure on State and Federal Income tax.

Next, are you SURE about teachers, and social security, and Medicare tax?. Federal employees, some state employees, and railroad men have their own plans, but I didn't think teachers did.

In Kentucky the teachers retirement system exempts many treachers from SS tax. Amish do pay income tax and state income tax just like anybody else. As far as local and state government tax goes I am not sure what you are referring to. They pay state income tax and sales tax so I don't know of another state government tax they would be liable for. The local taxes in Franklin county (in addition to property tax) is an occupational tax of 2% (and yes it stinks) paid by worker/employee. But no one is exempt including Amish.

If I could get a religous exemption on federal, state and all taxes I am starting a new church! It will be the Church of the Almighty dollar. We will also profess Sunday beer sales as part of our services.
